COVID-19 has bestowed upon us some complicated and unpredictable times.  I understand that everyone is concerned with health and safety precautions as well as the functioning of essential business.

Here’s what we’re doing on our end:
LightningVan is open and operating normally. Under NYS' PAUSE executive order movers are considered an essential service.  Transportation, shipping, logistics, for-hire vehicles, services supporting building infrastructure and most building-related activities are essential. These services should be kept in operation as long as the participants are symptom free.

We are a small operation. Our staff consists of three people and only two are ever working in the van at once. Each of us is practicing the best possible hygiene at home and on the job. In our personal lives we are practicing self isolation and avoiding any gatherings. We are staying healthy in general by eating well, exercising and getting enough rest.

Our van and equipment have just been cleaned as thoroughly as possible.  We are wearing disposable nitrile gloves during the move and we will also have face masks.

In the event that we are forced to shut down by governmental agencies or any of our staff becomes ill I will notify customers immediately.

Here’s what I need you to do:
Please clean your place as best you can and disinfect to a reasonable extent. Even just clearing out the normal dust bunnies will help prevent an awkward cough!

Let us know if you have become symptomatic or have been in contact with people you know to now be symptomatic.  We cannot and should not impose the risk of passing this virus to others who may be elderly or immune-impaired.

Let me know if you have specific health concerns and we will figure out the best course of action.

We can work with you to reschedule your move for a different time if needed. We will not hesitate to accommodate our customers in any way we can, but we will not put them at risk.

Feel free to reach out via email or text with any other questions.
